My love of the weather began in 8th grade, while studying earth sciences. After a few weeks of Oceanography, Astronomy, etc., I found my interests sparked during Meteorology lessons. We plotted weather systems by hand on maps and took daily recordings of wind and temperature. While weather became an interest, it did not register to me as a career option until later. As I entered into High School, interests in becoming a pilot once again led me to Meteorology, as a family friend walked me through the weather center of a local airport. I was immediately consumed by the data streaming into the building, and have since put all my focus into the weather.
I graduated from Penn State University in December 2010. I am originally from the surrounding Philadelphia area, and enjoyed my time as a Weather Intern at NBC10! Philadelphia in 2009. In my spare time I love performing in musical theater, choirs, and playing soccer. My favorite thing to do outside of work is to spend time with my family, friends, and my dog, Mattie. My family has been there for me with every dream I have come up with, and every adventure I have pursued. They have been a huge part of my success.
At Penn State, I gained many wonderful weather experiences. I was a part of the PSU Campus Weather Service, C-Net 7 (a student run television weather broadcast), and as the Meteorologist for the live weekly newscast of the Centre County Report.

In 2009 I served as Vice President of the University Choir. This is me with a few of the other officers.
My THON morale Committee from 2010. THON is the largest student run Philanthropy in the world. We Penn Stater's work through the entire year to raise money to fight pediatric cancer. The end of the fundraising is celebrated with a 46 hour no sitting, no sleeping dance maraTHON, where over 700 students dance and stay on their feet for an entire weekend. We do this to show the world that we are dedicated 24/7 to finding a cure. I was lucky enough to be chosen to dance in the marathon in 2009, partnering with my sister, Kim! It was painful and exhausting to say the least, but it is nothing compared to what children going through cancer treatment have to deal with every day, and that is why we try to raise money and awareness.
